EGHS Students Win Overall China / US International Economic Summit

From Mrs. Page-
It was an intense two-days. The Cole and high-school students worked alongside their counterparts from Beijing, all day Friday and well into the nighttime hours, preparing for the actual China / US International Economic Summit held from8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at Harvard. Some of their work is captured in this Storify: https://storify.com/eghsbiz/eg-students

The high-school Australia team that included EGHS students Zadoc (Zing) Gee and Matthew Durant won the overall summit. Their focus and the creative methods they used to bridge the culture and language divide with their Beijing team members was extraordinary.

The parents that joined us, Hassan Gangi and Gretchen Caterson, assumed key roles in supporting the student teams from MA and RI, and in the overall judging component. The summit organizers made a point of telling us that Hassan and Gretchen's perspective and substantive feedback will help inform future refinements to this program.

This collaborative undertaking is a great example of the type of cross-discipline , multi-grade-level initiatives, complete with parent stakeholders, that align with our strategic vision "to empower students by connecting them to the world in meaningful, relevant, and purposeful ways."
