EGHS to represent Rhode Island In National Personal Finance Challenge

April marks Financial Literacy Month and the fifth straight year that East Greenwich High School will represent the State of Rhode Island at the National Personal Challenge. East Greenwich took the top three (3) rankings among 105 Rhode Island high-school teams, with Trent Liesching and Jason Page tied for top individual scorer. The following students representing each grade level are heading to Nebraska for the May 10 competition: Margaret Thompson, Matthew Tactacan, Jack Gecawich, and Kelsa Dator. Top teams and individual competitors will also be recognized at an award ceremony on Friday, April 26 at the Rhode Island State House.

Lauren Shanos- Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Winner

Congratulations to EGHS Senior, Salutatorian, and now Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Winner-- Ms. Lauren Shanos. While the scholarship winners were announced nationally by Amazon on 4/2/2019 (You can view the press release by clicking here) Ms. Shanos was notified via a surprise announcement in her French class last Thursday spearheaded by Mrs. Eaves and Mrs. Varone. 


Our sincere congratulations go out to Lauren, her family, friends, as well as to all of the educators who have helped her gain such powerful knowledge and skills required to win this scholarship.
