Code Trip’s app is titled “Easy Eats, provides simple step-by-step recipe instructions that aim to increase the independence of those with intellectual disabilities. The app is cognizant of sensitivities of these individuals, which is why it adheres to specific visual and audio preferences. Additionally, a personalization page allows the user to select their preferred foods. Overall, the app provides users with the ability to cook safely on their own.

concepts.”

Technovation offers girls around the world the opportunity to learn the necessary skills to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders. Over 19,000 girls around the world registered to participate in Technovation 2018, building apps and starting businesses that solve problems in their communities. Technovation RI just finished its first season and worked with Technovation MA to host a New England Regional Showcase. This past 2018 season, eight Rhode Island teams participated in Technovation and four teams finished an app and showcased at the New England event.  A second EGHS team, Code Mood, also presented at the New England showcase.  Code Mood, also mentored by Eaves, was composed of senior Lucy Yu and juniors Sarah Brusini and Jillian Valente.

Description generated with very high confidenceTechnovation RI is another great success story involving the state’s CS4RI initiative, one of the most comprehensive statewide computer science (CS) initiatives in the country. Before CS4RI only 1% of RI high school students were enrolled in CS courses. Now all students K-12 have access to CS courses. By 2025, CS4RI aims to double the number of computer science graduates in Rhode Island.
