FOOD FOR THOUGHT

With first quarter report cards being issued, this week’s “Food for Thought” is Why Grades Are Not Paramount to Achievement from Ashley Lamb-Sinclair in the Atlantic.
A willingness to learn for its own sake represents intrinsic motivation, while grades and other accolades represent extrinsic. Research has shown time and again that intrinsic motivation leads to more profound learning.
As always, thank you for your support of East Greenwich High School. Have a wonderful week.
