Student Group Seeks to Win Grant to Start Garden at EGHS

PLANTING CHANGE: Seed by Seed
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8d/Vegetable_garden_-_geograph.org.uk_-_821006.jpg

Mission Statement: We hope to help children who are struggling with obesity learn how to eat healthy and be physically fit. We want our ideas to spread to other schools across the country. Also, on a larger scale, we want every school in Rhode Island to have access to the EGHS ‘garden template’.

Idea: We want to create a community garden where students can learn about the environment and healthy eating. We want to put up signs to educate about it and use the vegetables in our school cafeteria. We would explain the difference between GMO, organic, and processed foods to make kids aware of what they are eating.

To help Seed by Seed fulfill their mission, they are looking to win a "Seeds for Change" grant.  You can vote for them by clicking here. Voting ends on April 18, 2016
