EGHS Students Talk Financial Literacy Tonight 1-28-2016 on MSNBC

From Mrs. Page-

Exciting news to share. CNBC will be running a segment, Thursday, Jan. 28 that highlights Personal Finance education in RI and the @realEdRI students from EGHS who helped usher in RI's adoption of the National Financial Literacy standards in November 2014. This feature hosted by Sharon Epperson will coincide with the upcoming release of the 2015 version of Survey of the States published by the National Council for Economic Education. This year's publication will feature a commentary by General Treasurer Seth Magaziner.

Full Segment: Thurs. Jan 28 on PBS' Nightly Business Report at 6:30pm ET. This will be approx 2-3 minutes.

Details on additional air time, provided by CNBC Producer Katie Young and Alicia Sellitti from the National Council for Economic Education follow—

------------------------

Following are the air times:

-The first SOS appearance on CNBC will be Thurs. Jan 28 on Power Lunch between 1pm and 3pm ETour producer is going to try to nail that down to a smaller window for us, but probably won't know until tomorrow. This will be an abbreviated segment, likely Sharon discussing with an anchor with an infographic visual or some sound bites from the RI students. This will be approx 1 min 30 seconds, hopefully longer.

-The full segment will air tomorrowThurs. Jan 28 on PBS' Nightly Business Report at 6:30pm. This will be approx 2-3 minutes. (Note: this is PBS not CNBC) http://nbr.com/station-finder/
-Another version of the full segment will air on CNBC's On the Money this Sunday, Jan 31 at 5:30am; unless you're an early riser, set your DVR for that one.
-CNBC will be pitching this to additional regional affiliates, i.e. NBC New York, NBC Rhode Island, etc. etc., so I would expect to see some additional coverage out of this.
