-IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS-
List of 4th Quarter Events
As we move full steam ahead into the last quarter of the year, it is easy to lose track of all of the events that occur in rapid succession. It is with this in mind that this document- listing most of the remaining major events for the 2016-17 school year, was created. Many of the events on this list cause shifts to the daily operational schedule of EGHS so they are important for all members of our school community to be aware of.
Sailing Team to Host Viewing of “A Plastic Ocean”
The East Greenwich High School Sailing Team is hosting a screening of the film "A Plastic Ocean" at EGHS on Friday April 28 at 6:30pm.  This award winning film brings into sharp focus the horrible state of our oceans and the devastation wreaked by millions of tons of plastic waste flowing into the ocean every day.  Following the film will be a panel discussion which will include experts Dave McLaughlin (founder of Clean Ocean Access) and Curt Spalding (Former director of the EPA and executive director of Save the Bay).   On Saturday April 29, there will be a shore clean up hosted by the members of the EGHS Sailing Team.    This is a free event hosted by the EGHS sailing team.  Those wishing to make a donation to the team may do so at the door.
Here is a link to the trailer of the film - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zrn4-FfbXw
If you have any questions, please call Coach David Wehr at 401-225-9716  or you can speak with Team Captains Ali DeCesere and Rob Hamann

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
This week’s Food for Thought article is a post on Quartz regarding Leonardo da Vinci and how the frame of what “genius” is has shifted- “True genius results from a rebellious attitude against compartmentalized thinking; it can also appear as a fleeting moment of insight, not necessarily a permanent condition of greatness.
I hope you had a great April break.
