EGHS Italy Excursion

Mr. Revkin's students went on a whirlwind tour of Italy, including Verona, Venice, Florence, Assisi, Rome, and Capri. Here are some of their thoughts.

My favorite memory from our trip was walking into the Pompeiian forum and seeing Mount Vesuvius in the distance knowing it could erupt at any moment. I felt very connected to the ancient Romans by this experience because although it has been hundreds of years I still had the honor of walking into their city and being humbled by their mountain.

Riding a gondola through the canals of Venice felt surreal. All of the sights were like nothing I had ever seen before. Rome, Florence and the other cities we visited were great, but nothing compares to Venice.

While traveling through Italy, we explored the most beautiful places in the entire world. My personal favorite was the town of Assisi where the view was breathtaking, the gelato was delicious, and the churches were mesmerizing  The one experience that stands out from the rest, was the boat ride we took around the island of Capri. No words or pictures could quite describe the beauty of this country.
