Awards and Accolades for Three EGHS Clubs

It was quite a week and weekend for EGHS with many accomplishments and awards garnered by our students and clubs. Our congratulations go out to the following clubs, students and advisors on a job well done!


I. The EGHS Drama Club presented the show in How to Succeed in High School Without Really Trying at the RI High School Drama Festival.  This was the first time EG has entered this festival and did an absolutely fantastic job, with several of them winning individual awards. The Following students won RI Drama All State Company Awards:
  • Vanessa Dimasse - Costume Design
  • Dan Sun - Acting
  • Ella Saint - Acting
  • Jack Larson - Acting
  • Patrick Shenefield   - Director
  • Ariel Finkle was a finalist for the Terry Murray Scholarship Award
II.  Congratulations to the entire Academic Decathlon team for winning second place at the state competition on Sunday, and to individual medal winners:
  • Eva Bianco, gold medal in Speech, with a video
  • Brant Wei, gold medals in Math, Social Science, and Economics, and a bronze medal for his performance in the entire Honors division
  • Ana Karabots, bronze medal in Speech
  • Laurel Koehler, bronze medal in Language and Literature
  • Holland Lopez, bronze medal in Speech
  • Jonathan Yao, silver medal in Math and bronze medal in Language and Literature
III.  Congratulations to Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) who medaled at their very first Spring Leadership Conference:
  • Beria Hos, bronze medalist for Behavioral Health
  • Kavana Girish, silver medalist for Transcultural Health Care
  • Kinjal Gupta, gold medalist for Health Career Photography
  • Rachel Distefano and Shannon Lake, gold medalists for Health Career Display
  • Hanna Casper, Sydney Fay, Isabella Marasco, and Laura Vetters, gold medalists for Health Education
