FOOD FOR THOUGHT
This week’s “Food for Thought” is a Fortune Magazine article entitled Why a Country with Some of the World’s Best Schools Is Now Scrapping Grades. Quite a shift- “Cindy Khoo, a director with the Ministry of Education's Planning Division, says while a historic focus on performance has kept standards high, the overemphasis on exam results detracts students from the broader purpose of learning: discovery and exploration.
I hope you had a safe and fun February recess. Have a great week.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
This week’s “Food for Thought” is an article from the Economist entitled “High-Pressure Parenting” which takes a look at some trends involving parenting and child rearing in the 21st century-“The trend toward spending more time with one’s offspring is especially strange given that better-educated, better-paid parents are not spending less time at work; on the contrary, they are spending more, both in absolute terms and relative to the working time of less-educated households. High-income parents are instead spending less time on other personal activities, including sleep. The question is: why?”
I hope you had a great weekend (and if you are a Patriots fan like I am- congratulations!).
