EGHS Enters Two Teams in 2018 Technovation Challenge

From Mrs. Eaves-

East Greenwich High School had two teams submit entries to the 2018 Technovation Challenge.  https://technovationchallenge.org/about/ This is an entrepreneurial tech challenge for middle school and high school women.  These young ladies worked hard to enter this challenge having to submit: a working app, business plan, pitch video, demo video and other artifacts describing the design process.

Team Code Mood submitted an app called, In the Mood, designed for personalized emotional management and communication geared toward the special needs or 504 population.  Code Mood team members: Sarah Brusini, Jillian Valente, and Lucy Yu.

Team Code Trip submitted an app called, Easy Eats, designed to help people with special needs cook.  It provides step by step pictures, text and text to speech.  The clientele could expand to children learning to cook and possibly Alzheimer patients. Code Trip team members: Katie Cretella, Lauren Shanos, and Morgan Prior.

Six teams from Rhode Island submitted to the challenge; three teams from RI attended the showcase in Boston Massachusetts.  I am proud of the teamwork, process, and product these young ladies displayed and I am happy to report that our team, Code Trip, with the app Easy Eats made top ten in the Massachusetts regional showcase.

Team Code Trip's Pitch Video can be viewed below and found here. The team's Demo Video can also be viewed below and found here

Congratulations to both teams! Great job Avengers!
