IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Student Handbook Getting Revamped for 2nd Semester

At its most recent meeting, the East Greenwich School Committee was given a glimpse into a revised and updated draft of the EGHS student handbook. The draft handbook, which can be viewed by clicking here, looks harness the power of new publishing platforms and put on display many of the artistic talents of our students, by using 100% student generated artwork and photographs throughout the handbook.
There are very few changes proposed in terms of draft policies and rule changes, however there is one change we are particularly proud of-- the new dress code. We believe that the code, adapted from dress code policies from Evanston High School in Illinois and the Oregon NOW Model Student Dress Code, accurately reflects the openness and inclusivity that members of East Greenwich Public Schools strive to achieve everyday.
Should members of the EGHS community have any recommendations, questions or comments about the handbook before it goes before the East Greenwich School Committee for approval and adoption later this month, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
