EGHS News and Information!

A weekly newsletter with information about upcoming events related to East Greenwich High School
EGHS Front Empower.png
In an effort to increase the dissemination of important information about upcoming events occurring at East Greenwich High School, I have created this newsletter which will usually be sent out to the EGHS school community once a week via the EGHS announcements email.
Also in an effort to not inundate your email inboxes, the EGHS main office will make every attempt to send only one email a day. It is our intention to have all announcements, information, links etc. in that email, so please review the daily email in it’s entirety so that opportunities are not overlooked.
Hope you find this a useful tool in navigating this school year.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

EGHS Open House Thursday October 5th

Please click here to be taken to this year's open house letter AND a blank schedule that your student should fill out for you in order to navigate the classroom portion of the evening.

PSATs 10/14/2017

From the EGHS Guidance office-
The PSATs will be offered on Saturday, October 14 here at EGHS.  This test is important for Juniors as it is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as well as a good opportunity to practice for the spring SATs.
Sophomores will be taking the PSAT free of charge during the school day on April 10 as a replacement for the PARCC test.  The are welcome to take the test in October; however, it will not replace the April 10 test.
Please return the registration form (found here) to the Guidance Office with a check for $30 made out to EGHS no later than Friday, September 29 if your child would like to register for the test.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

This week’s “Food for Thought” is a post from Will Richardson-The Absolute Best We Can Do For Kids. “The news that Maryland’s biggest school district gave up on its attempt to change the grading scale for its 150K kids shouldn’t shock anyone. But reading between the lines of the Washington Post story that chronicled its retreat back to an A-F format offers up a relevant postmortem on why many changes we try to implement in schools in general end in failure.”
We hope you have a great week and we look forward to seeing you at Open House.
